Lila Sober is the new solo project of Clément Caillierez, singer and musician with Psychotic Monks. His music is rooted in the sincerity of lived experience: the violence endured in childhood, the lasting marks, but also the paths toward repair, healing, and mutual support. With Different Drums, a debut album of striking intensity, Lila Sober builds a raw sonic landscape where folk, musique concrète, and industrial sounds intersect.

'This record is a testimony, the beginning of a healing process that started in 2020. I recorded it in my bedroom in Rennes in 2024 with a classical guitar, a Berhinger Pro 800, a Korg Volca Beats, and a Beta 58. I added no input mixing, an infinite feedback technique, to saturate certain instruments. I wanted the lyrics to be very raw, without imagery or ambiguity, leaving no doubt about the subjects addressed: incest, post-traumatic stress, my mental health, and sobriety. With these songs, I defend my truth. The healing will take a lifetime and will never be complete, absolute, but it exists. That's what I also want to convey with this record: hope.'

Return or rebirth for the band Mule Jenny! After composing and recording a remarkable debut album on his own (All These Songs Of Love And Death, 2021) under this enigmatic name, Etienne Gaillochet (drummer and singer with We Insist!) was soon joined by friends Max Roy and Théo Guéneau from Lysistrata. Together, they initially developed a repertoire for live performance, before quickly working on new songs together, in a radically different form. The trio's new album will have the virtues of live performance, spontaneity and dynamism. The music is still complex, full of math-rock twists and hairpin turns, but the vocal lines guide it in a more melodic and heady direction.
